5 Steps: The Smoky Eyes Have It

Still with the smokey eye! They flooded the runways of top designers like Roberto Cavalli and Salvatore Ferragamo among others. It’s going to be around for many more seasons I think. I’m just waiting for it to really go wild with wicked, sexy colors. Big and bold is what I like to see. But whatev.

This is a bit of a modified smoky eye though, it’s evolving and now you want to follow the beauty tips below (and keep in mind you can tone it down for daytime like the model shown above or you can go all out and make it a work of art:
1) First take care of your skin. To pull of a truly subtle look you need to have flawless skin, that makes the shadow really pop and it gives you that dramatic look you need when you are going out clubbing or something equally exciting.
2) You need a good liquid liner to outline your eyes. I like the Dual Ended Mascara and Liquid Eye Liner because you get liner and mascara in one tube. Once you apply the eyeliner, gently smudge along the bottom to give it that real blended smokey look.
3) When it comes to choosing the actual colors you want to use, I suggest going with some deep ones like purple, navy or even charcoal gray, the latter is getting LOTs of attention this season.
4) Stretch the dark shade of eyeshadow from the lash line to the crease and just a little farther.

5) Last but not least you need the best lipstick to compliment your new found smokey eyed look. Look for very soft, neutral colors. Anything bright or too dark is going to get people looking at your mouth instead of your eyes.
**TIP: Always choose only one feature to emphasize. If you want it to be your lips, then go with bright, deep, bold colors, but then use light neutral colors on the eyes and visa versa.

Indeed smoky eyes have become a “must”. It’s good to know that you can use other colors apart from black. One question: when is ok to wear such a make-up? It’s ok during the day??

Yes, I agree with your points. The choice of the eye liner and the color pays a lot for your smoky eyes along with the fact that you need to take care of your skin.

Eye makeup tips often include advice on creating a smokey look. Some suggest black eye cosmetics, but you had try a slightly lighter shade of eye makeup.
