Lipstick bleed is one of the most annoying things in the entire world, yes the entire world. I hate it when I get all my makeup perfect, put on my lipstick and then ten minutes later it looks like my lips are moldy and they are trying to take over my face in an ugly almost obscene way. That is why I have devoted a lot of time to eliminating lipstick bleed from my life.

Bioelements Lycoplex Lip GlossGetting rid of lipstick bleed is surprisingly easy, well sort of. Of course you are far better off to prevent it in the first place by keeping your lips moisturized all year round. The drier your lips are the most likely you are to suffer with lipstick bleed.

And when it comes to keeping your lips moist lip balms made of cocoa butter always do the trick in a jiffy.

But if you just can’t seem to keep things going your way you will want to avoid the softer lipsticks because these are much more likely to bleed out. That makes it sound like you are gonna die or something—bleed out!

Anyways, a drier matte lipstick is by far the best option if your lips are prone to lipstick bleed. I know that it seems to contradict the whole keep your mouth moistened thing but there is a big difference between putting wet stuff on the dry lips and having moist lips to begin with, really there is.

If you are like me and just really dislike matte finishes then try layering your lipstick instead. All you have to do to be able to wear the glossy lipglosses or lipsticks is put a layer of foundation in your lips first. You don’t need a lot just a nice sheer layer will do. This will give your lipstick something to stick to and it will keep your skin from absorbing the color too much which can lead to lipstick bleed.

Seeing your face with just foundation on the lips is going to look a little freaky, you will look like the creature in Pan’s Labyrinth, but all you gotta do now is take your favorite lip pencil and draw your mouth back on. Now just pick up your trusty lipstick brush and color in between the lines making sure you don’t get a twitch or something.

All that is left to do now is blot the lipstick and/or lightly dust your lips with some translucent powder and you are set and so are your lips. No more lip bleed for you and while this may sound like an awful lot of work the good news is that when followed correctly these instructions are sure to keep lipstick bleed away from your face. Yay!
