Lipstick costs money, especially the high end brands like Guerlain, Mac or Elizabeth Arden and that’s why you need to get every last drop– or clump rather– of it out of the lipstick tube. I remember the days when I would throw out the lipstick when it got down to the plastic, do you realize how much lipstick is below that?? A LOT! If you can finish your lipstick tube you can save some cash and you’d be surprised at how much is hiding down there in the crevices.

What I do is get my lipstick brush and dig deep with it to get all the lipstick out of the recesses of the tube. Using a lipstick brush is the smart way to go anyways as it allows you to use less product and have it last longer on the lips as you can read in my lipstick brush post.

If you don’t have a lipstick brush then you may want to consider using a q tip to finish your lipstick tube. This is a cheap and convenient way to do it. You waste more than if you used the brush but it is better than just throwing out the tube all together.
