Here’s the deal. The smokey eye that we have all been sporting over the last couple of seasons is still super hot on the runways and the streets. There is an interesting twist to it this season though. On the runways we saw Robert Cavalli and Salvatore Ferragamo take this makeup trend to a whole new level. Now it’s bolder and darker and much more dramatic.
You can now have the dark shadow go from your lashline all the way up to the crease, even past that is popular. Talk about bold, right?
The thing is to sport dramatic smokey eyes like this the rest of your face must be flawless. Use smooth and sheer foundation and keep your mouth a soft neutral color. All attention should be on the eyes and a strong lipstick color muddles the look.
Look for shades of charcoal gray, deep navy blue and even sensuously deep purples will light this eyeshadow trend on Fire. Smokey eyes aren’t going anywhere ladies so we have to keep up to the changes to keep our look fresh and interesting.

I agree, I think the smokey eye is going to be around for a long time still. Just make sure if you have really bold makeup the jewelry needs to be a little more understated.
Do you think smoky eyes works for people who have dark circles around the eyes?
I have eyebags, but I notice that even if I don’t lack sleep, I always have dark circles around my eyes, not just underneath. Because of that, I can’t try out smoky eyes. T_T
